Why travellers come to Gudauri
Gudauri — Georgia’s busiest ski resort, two hours from Tbilisi.
Gudauri sits at 2,200 m altitude on the Georgian Military Highway, the historic road that threads north from Tbilisi through the Greater Caucasus to the Russian border. It is Georgia’s largest, highest, and most popular ski resort — a modern lift-system above treeline with 57 km of marked runs spread across three peaks, plus substantial off-piste freeride terrain for skiers and boarders with avalanche experience.
How the transfer from Tbilisi Airport actually runs
The Tbilisi Airport (TBS) to Gudauri route is the most-booked winter transfer on our platform. Travel time runs 90 minutes to 2 hours under typical conditions. The road climbs out of the Aragvi valley, past the Ananuri fortress reservoir (worth a 10-minute stop in daylight), through the Pasanauri junction, and over the Jvari Pass — the final 20 km into Gudauri. In winter the pass occasionally closes for avalanche clearance; our drivers check pass status before departure and reroute or delay as needed. We monitor inbound flights automatically, so a delayed arrival never compounds with a pass closure on the same day.
Which class to book for Gudauri
For a family of four with full ski kit, the Minivan is the most-booked class — enough boot room for four sets of skis plus bags, plus sliding doors for ease of loading. Solo and couple travellers use the Sedan or Comfort class (Sedan fits two ski bags; Comfort handles three). Groups of five to seven with full kit should default to the Minivan. Corporate ski trips of 12+ book the Minicoach. Fixed price quoted at booking, EUR or USD.
Return legs and day trips
Single bookings can cover return legs (Gudauri back to TBS for an onward flight) at a priced-in-advance round-trip rate. Day trips from Tbilisi to Gudauri run roughly €150 for a Sedan with 4–5 hours on the mountain; the driver waits on meter-off time at the resort while you ski. Combined Kazbegi-and-Gudauri day trips are also priced on the widget; the two destinations are 45 minutes apart on the same highway.
